Once the firearm has arrived and has been processed, our staff will contact the buyer. The buyer must then schedule a transfer firearm pick-up appointment. Due to a high volume of incoming firearms, please allow 24 to 72 hours for processing. If tracking information indicates the firearm has been delivered to Always Strapped, please wait until a staff member informs you that it’s ready for pick-up.

ALL FIREARMS TRANSFERS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

Background checks are only MANDATORY in connection with a purchase and/or transfer of all firearms unless exempt.  You must be a Virginia resident and at least 21 years old to undergo a background check for any handgun, revolver, frame, or lower receiver — anything that is not a shotgun or a rifle.  

The person who orders the firearm online must be the person who picks up the firearm and completes the ATF FORM 4473.

Please bring the appropriate identification to your pickup appointment. 

You will need a current valid  government-issued photo identification document.
If your license is marked ORI (original) or DUP (duplicate), 30 days must have elapsed from the date of issuance.

If your photo ID does not list your current residence, supplemental government-issued documentation is required to confirm your residence.
Example: Concealed Handgun Permit, Voter Registration Card, Virginia Motor Vehicle Registration.

Active-Duty Military personnel stationed in Virginia are eligible to purchase firearms as Virginia residents, and may bring their military photo-identification card issued by the United States Department of Defense, plus:
1. Permanent orders assigning the purchaser to a Virginia duty post, including the Pentagon, OR
2. Leave and Earning Statement with a Virginia residence address.

Transfers not picked up within 15 days of delivery are subject to a weekly $20 storage fee in addition to the transfer fee. Transfers not picked up within 30 days are considered abandoned and will be disposed at Always Strapped's discretion.

Unless prior arrangements have been made, such as deployed military, firearms left abandoned on premise for greater than 30 days will be sold to recover storage fees. 

By having your firearm(s) shipped to us, you agree to this policy.

All transfer fees, shipping, and storage fees must be paid before Always Strapped releases/transfer the firearm. 

If a firearm is purchased online and the customer wants Always Strapped to handle the incoming transfer, the customer must:

A. Notify Always Strapped that the customer is making a purchase and would like Always Strapped to handle the incoming transfer. This notification should include the customer’s name, telephone number, and email address, the business shipping the firearm to Always Strapped, and the make and model of the firearm.

B. Purchase the item and pay for it directly.

C. Provide to the business shipping the firearm to Always Strapped our email to request a copy of our Federal Firearms License (FFL).  Note that if the business shipping the firearm into Virginia requires contact with Always Strapped before they will ship, this may delay your transfer. It is the customer’s responsibility to provide Always Strapped all information necessary to contact seller if the seller will not contact us directly to receive the FFL documentation. 

D. Ensure that the business shipping the firearm includes either a copy of their FFL with the shipment or, if the person is not a dealer, a copy of their driver’s license. In addition,they should include your name and contact information with the firearm.

E. Always Strapped will notify the customer that the firearm has arrived, and is ready for pick up.  

Customer is responsible for all return shipping charges should they wish to cancel and return a firearm to a seller. Customer will also pay a $25 surcharge to cover the cost of recording the acquisition and deposition of the firearm.
